Finding The Perfect Colour To Match Your Printed Scuba Fabric 👗 🎨
We know it can be a struggle to colour match fabrics online, especially when there are so many options! 😫 Yes, we are very guilty of spoiling you with you endless fabrics choices BUT we now have an amazing guide to help! Read on for more info….
WHAT IS SCUBA?
Scuba is a thick and stretchy jersey dressmaking fabric made from a blend of polyester and elastane (lycra). It has a smooth, structured feel and is ideal for garments that require body control due to it’s thickness. It’s called scuba because it’s very similar to the material used for actual scuba-diving suits.
6 Reasons Why You Should Use Scuba Fabric For Dressmaking….
1. It’s extremely easy to cut and sew up… smooth, thick and stretchy- a dream combo. 2. It doesn’t require any lining. 3. It has body control properties, smoothing and contouring any unwanted lumps and bumps. 4. It’s the most easy to maintain fabric; barely creases, very stain resistant, easy to wash/dry as it hardly retains any water. 5. It can be used for a variety of garments, for example formal dresses i.e. bridesmaid’s dresses, bodycon dresses, blazers, skirts, crop tops, activewear/loungewear and so much more! 6. It comes in over 30 solid colours and beautiful prints!

Many thanks for showing me what you can do with scuba material, I like that you explained what the material is like. Being new to sewing I don’t know what material is best to use for what.
